Smudging
Burning incense is found in many cultures; however, "smudging" is a unique Native American tradition.
Smudging is an ancient practice of burning specific herbs to clean and clear stagnate and negative energy. Bundled herbs, typically sage, are wound with thread and left burning. The smoke is then directed throughout an area or over the surface of an object. The Native American belief was that the smoke binds to negative energy and removes it as the smoke clears, allowing positive energy to flow into the cleansed space.

Alternative Smudging

Though it smells lovely, our Smudge Sprays are not air-fresheners. Smudging is a practice of clearing negative energy, and is most effective when used 3 to 6 times a day. For example, many of my clients smudge the home in the morning to clear the space for intentions to flow. Additionally they smudge inside their car before traveling, smudge at the office, when they return home, and once more before bed to clear for dream work. Many of those that love Elena's Elixirs have multiple bottles one to leave in their purse to smudge on the run, one at work when needing to turn around a negative situation and one to have at home.
